1934
The company was founded in 1934 by Edwin H. Kleckner. Our previous, Main Street, office facility was a combination general store and Post Office, which was owned by Mr. Kleckner’s father.
1939-1954
Over the years, our company grew and delivered such brands as Bushkill, Lebanon Valley, Kaiers, Gibbons, and Miller. In 1939, we began distributing products from C. Schmidt & Sons, Inc. The company acquired the Anheuser-Busch brands in February 1954. In April 2001, we sold the Schmidt and Bacardi brands becoming an exclusive Anheuser-Busch Wholesaler.
1973
In February 1973, our original warehouse facility was enlarged to its current size. Over the years, our Main Street facility was continuously expanded to handle the increasing supplies needed to serve our customers.
1979
On April 1, 1979, we completed construction of the refrigeration and insulation systems of the old warehouse, thus becoming a controlled environment warehouse. This enabled us to stock more inventory and to keep our products fresher.
1985
In October 1985, we acquired the Eagle Snack franchise. This franchise had grown to 5 employees, and 3 routes, serving 13 central PA counties before being terminated in April 1994.
1991
On May 19, 1991, we moved into our current 16,000 square foot, controlled environment warehouse. This ultra-modern facility allowed us much more efficiency than our previous facility, thus making your job and our overhead much easier to deal with, as well as making the operation more enjoyable for everyone.
2001
December 21, 2001, another milestone was achieved when the company purchased the Anheuser-Busch franchise for lower Northumberland and upper Schuylkill Counties. To service this territory, additional Sales Reps., Delivery and Warehouse personnel were hired to meet Equity Agreement compliance.
2002
May 1, 2002, the growth of our company continued with the acquisition of the territory serviced by Lycoming Beverage Co., Inc. This market consists of Bradford, Tioga, Sullivan and Lycoming Counties. In order to be Equity Agreement compliant, we hired 2 Team Leaders, 4 Sales Reps., 1 Warehouseman, and 4 Delivery Drivers.
2002
In August 2002, ground was broken for our new building expansion of approximately 40,000 square feet.
2023
In May 2023 another warehouse addition was completed of approximately 12,000 sq feet.
